Heart and Circulation Health

23.5 million people (11% of the population) have heart disease, which means heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the US and more women die than men from cardiovascular disease. Yet aside from inherited tendencies, heart disease is both very preventable and reversible. There are many types of heart and circulation disorders, like high blood pressure, vein and artery problems such as atherosclerosis and Reynaud’s and many reasons for them, like heredity, lifestyle, stress, eating habits, sedentary lifestyle etc.

In one case of consistently high blood pressure the culprit turned out to be an inherited or ingrained tendency to perfectionism which resulted in continual self-generated stress. This client was on blood pressure medication for years but was able to lower her blood pressure to normal by deep breathing for 2 minutes while she held certain meridian points on her own body.

Unfortunately, not all solutions to the variety of heart and circulation problems are as simple as this one. And of course, this isn't truly simple either because the real solution entailed balancing her adrenals for better stress response, and also required her to change first her perspective about what is important, then her habitual responses to stressful events.

In the case of heart and circulation problems it is important to ask the right questions and have good laboratory data to answer them. Even if the causal factor is a genomic shortcoming, steps can be taken to compensate.

Also, it is a proven fact that heart health, regardless of the origin of the problem, can very definitely be improved with appropriate nutrition, herbal tonics, simple exercise and a shift in how you view events in your life. As I said before, the body is an intelligent, self correcting mechanism and given the right tools, much can be accomplished on the path of good health.
