Insomnia in the
US troubles about one in eight or an estimated 32 million people. Insomnia can
be temporary, the result of some undue stress, or a chronic inability to get a
good night's rest. Even when chronic, there can be several different patterns
and, of course, different reasons for them.
You may have a hard time falling asleep
but get enough rest once asleep. Or go to sleep with ease, but wake up during
the night and be unable to resume sleeping. You may have restless legs that jerk you awake, or sleep apnea and snoring that make you tired in the morning. For each of the several different
insomnia patterns there are a number of possible reasons.
Once we understand
the reasons we can correct them. It may be something as simple as having a snack
at bedtime or a more complex amino acid deficiency or stress patterns in need
of resolving. Once the pattern is found and corrected, your body will need to
be retrained to proper sleeping patterns. Even if you have been sleepless for
years, refreshing sleep can be yours once again, naturally, without the use of
drugs, in a relatively short time.
